Phoenix Tail (Ancient)

Ancient tail style.
These tails are often made of very large, long feathers and trailing thin feathers. They are usually very detailed and have many parts to them.ย

Adds one pair of wings to the painted satyr. These wings resemble that of a dragon or sea creature. While they are usually for display or gliding through air and water, some lucky satyrs may be able to use them to fly short distances.

Size: Refer to examples for the maximum sizes of the trait. Body wings should not be larger than shown with the exception of back wings, which can be large enough to fly.

Hawk's Tail

Requires grove form to be unlocked.
Allows a painted satyr to unleash their inner strength through their connection to nature. Both the shifted and non shifted form are considered canon and can be used interchangeably.ย  When submitting a design using this trait you will have to provide a reference of the normal form and shifted form.

Size: Can be taller and larger than the satyr's normal self, refer to the example below for maximum size increase. The max increase is roughly 3 heads taller.

โœ… While in their shifted form their mask takes on a more animal-like appearance that resembles their grove form alignment animal.

Painted satyr are normally covered in fur but there are a small few that sport soft feathers. Upon closer inspection the feathers have some similarities to how certain types of satyr leaf flora grows.

Size: Cannot be longer/larger than the biggest feathers in the examples. Can cover any area of the body that would otherwise have fur or hair.

Adds one set of wings to the painted satyr. Very rarely there will be a satyr born with feathered wings or those who obtain them through one of Hawk's blessings. The feathers, while they are not leaves, upon close examination have faint similarities with some types of satyr flora. While most of the time the wings are for display or gliding, some lucky few are capable of flying short distances with their wings.

Size: Should remain close to examples. Back wings can be fairly large, body wings should stay close to examples shown.

Rather than the usual branched antlers the horns, tail, or other body branches take on an style with a flattened wide shape akin to that of a moose and/or a ridged, twisted appearance.ย

A floating mark of energy manifests between or around the horns of the painted satyr, signifying their connection to the magic flowing through the Celestial Seas.ย

Grove Form (Grove)

This ability can only be obtained by completing the Grove Quest with a painted satyr.

Painted satyr can unlock an animal form that they can freely change into. While in grove form they have heightened senses, can move faster, and feel more in tune with their surroundings. The grove form unlocked corresponds to which path of the grove quest your satyr takes

  • Free to use grove bases here. You are not required to use a base!
  • You do not need to unlock grove form to use grove traits.

Stag Quest by Browbirdโ˜… The Stag




Those who choose to seek out the Stag Spirit often find themselves lost, or in similarly repeating patterns of day to day activities. They wish to break away and find something more, to dig deep and find a way to make change. They may indulge in unhealthy or impulsive habits asย  they hope for a sign to appear, but the Spirit of the Stag seems to come to those who have truly accepted that they are ready for change of any kind - not just change that they think they would like to see. Life is unpredictable and ever changing, and sometimes all that is needed to see the truth is to stand still - even for just a moment.ย 

  • The Stag is the fastest of the grove forms, being able to reach top speed quickly and sprint for long distances
  • They are most in tune in deep forested areas and jungles

Those who choose the Path of the Wolf are often looking for a sense of guidance and direction to find a prosperous path in their lives. Much like how a wolf will lead their pack and survive in the harshest of conditions, these Satyrs seek the ever elusive sense of security and knowing their fate and future is bright. It is also said that those who hail from cold or desolate places will find solace in this path, working as well with others as they would on their own.

  • The Wolf is the strongest of all the grove forms, able to easily tear things apart with their teeth, and with their sizeable stamina they can carry large burdens for long distances
  • They are most in tune in alpine areas and the mountainous regionsย

The path of the cat often reveals itself to those who have previously died and been reborn as a satyr, or to those seeking some sort of renewal. The same path is also typically sought out by more curious minds, or those with some sort of underlying mystery in their lives that they wish to resolve. It is often said that those hailing from cities or of nomadic natures feel at home under the guide of the Cat, but as with all the Guides, there is always a chance to be surprised!

  • The cat is the most agile of the grove forms, able to quickly and quietly move across any type of terrain
  • They are most in tune in grassy plains and deserts

Satyrs who follow the path of the Hawk are those who seek freedom from emotional weights and struggles. They desire to come to terms with any mental turmoil they may carry, be it from past lives, present issues with no clear resolution, or responsibilities and burdens they feel they have come to bear. Inner peace is something that can be obtained in many ways, but some satyr find it is easier discovered with the help of guiding wings to keep their heads held high.

  • The Hawk is is agile and perceptive, but where they most shine is their stamina. They are able to fly across vast distances without rest
  • The Hawk is one of the smaller grove forms, the largest hawk might be able to carry 1 person for a short distance
  • They are most in tune far above in the sky, cresting the tops of forests and tips of mountains and among the sky islands

Satyr who seek out the path of the Serpent may be ones who are seeking to move on and heal from events in their past that may have caused much apprehension or distrust. They are oftentimes known to be reclusive and nervous of the unknown, but hoping and praying to open their heart once more to feed their innate curiosity of the world. Much like a snake sheds its skin into a new form, these satyrs hope for catharsis and transformation upon their return.

  • The Serpent is the most agile, strong, and capable in the water and able to dive to the farthest depths with ease
  • They are most in tune in wetlands, swamps, rivers, lakes, and oceans

Trait: Adds an elemental effect to the character, matching 1-2 of the character's aspects. Such as adding fire hair, plants growing on the design, ice horns, metallic markings etc!
Size: Depends on type!

  • Replacement/coating - 50% - 100% of the replaced/coated part
  • Floating Aura - 50% body size if bipedal, or 1x body length if quadruped
  • Accent - Can cover 25% anywhere on the design and can be split between smaller partial replacements/coatings

โœ… When replacing a part it can optionally affect similar parts on the design. Eg: Wing replacement replaces +1 wing set wings as well, but would need a new application to replace wing hair!
โœ… You can mix together 1-2 aspects per application as long as they're part of the same effect. Eg: swirling shadow and fire together, wood + fire to make burning leaves, blood frozen in ice, etc! Your kitbull must have both aspects and the item must allow both to be applied!
โœ… Some aspects have overlap to allow for more options
โœ… Elements can be any color as long as they match their aspect's texture and clearly read as that element. (Note: shadow element would need to be black or dark colors)
โœ… Element effects can turn on/off for prompts! As long as the character is still recognizable.

โŒ Cannot affect: eyes, weapons, clothing, insides, inner mouth, any inner areas visible if the kitbull is scarred, stitched, translucent, glass body, or missing parts!

Trait: Adds up to 10 small animals that accompany the kitbull and may live symbiotically with them. Sometimes they start as normal creatures, other times they are summoned or created from magic. Either they have formed a bond with the kitbull and their souls are now connected.
Size: Very small, around the size of a kitbull's eye, or up to 10% body size max! (Long bodied animals like snakes can extend slightly further but must still be very small!)

โœ… Can be different critter types (eg: butterflies & bees together!)
โœ… Any small creature is okay: insects, worms, arachnids, mollusks, small reptiles, small birds, small mammals, small marine animals like fish and starfish!
โœ… Can be tiny versions of large animals. Like a mini dinosaur!
โœ… Can be fantasy creatures as long as they're clearly resemble animals
โœ… Can float or walk beside the kitbull, rest on the kitbull, and live inside of a glass body kitbull, live inside of elemental parts (ex: fish in water hair), or sit in any holes made with other peculiars

Trait: A particularly odd modification to kitbulls, this allows their torso area to be made of hard but flexible glass!
Size: Replaces part of or all of the main body. Does not affect limbs/wings/tail/other parts.


โœ… Must be translucent or transparent with clear lines indicating the body is still present
โœ… Glass can be tinted any color and have markings as long as it clearly resembles glass and is translucent.
โœ… Must be solid material only with no breaks or cracks
โœ… The interior can optionally be filled with any non-living, non elemental objects. Eg: candy, plushies, toys, basic weapons, dice, stargold etc. These objects should not glow, made of liquid, or be floating/animated/etc, mundane objects only!
โœ… Can be affected by: elemental insides to have elements (water, blood, fire, planets, dirt etc) contained within the glass, shattered for broken/cracked glass, hollow for holes in the glass that expose the inside, ecosystem for animals living inside the glass body

โŒ Glass area cannot be affected by the elemental enchantment trait
โŒ Glass body does not apply to other parts like head, halo, thorns, limbs, etc, It MUST affect only the body (torso)! Anything added on would be solid by default. Use elemental ehcnatment to make other parts glass!
โŒ Does not modify the base anatomy, the body is still the same shape!

โœ… Can also be flat layered belly scales
โœ… Can have a sheen to them (should not look reflective/metalic by default)

โŒ Must clearly look like normal flat scales and have a scale texture, should not resemble stone, gemstone, tiles, quilts, etc!
โŒ Cannot 100% remove all fur and hair, some fluff still required (eg: fur on the spine & backs of limbs). To remove all fur and only have skin/scales you'll need to add the sphynx mutation!
โŒ Cannot be large raised plates, bones, plate armor, or spikes

NOTE: This trait can only be used by longbulls and trubulls, or their kitbull alt forms (if the modified anatomy mutation is applied). It cannot be used my standard kitbulls at all if they don't meet those requirements!

โœ… Can be serpent-like, frog-like, or a longer version of their normal tongue
โœ… Split tongue OK!

โŒ Does not affect the "maw" peculiar trait. It can only be applied to the main mouth!
โŒ Does not add a mouth to the kitbull
โŒ Needs to be visible on the masterlist in some way!
