Somewhere out there in the Celestial Seas, a small planet orbits along a confluence of leylines. Lush flora and overgrowth run rampant here, from grasslands taller than the eye can see to towering forests with thick floral canopies, fed by the never-ending stream of celestial magic. With such fertile soil itβs little wonder that this place is home to so many painted satyrs! They proliferate here as easy as breathing β current residents must take care not to leave any stray masks around outside their home, lest a new seedling pop up practically overnight with the rest of the overgrowth. Itβs common for satyrs that live here to cultivate the area around where they were born into a garden. Everything grows so well! How could they not? β¦ This satyr spends their time tending to acres upon acres of apple trees, growing all sorts of delicious snacks for their friends and family. Their apple cider is the best in the business! Recently they encountered a bit of a pest problem, and though they managed to scare most of the vermin off, one in particular has stuck around. The little fella is pretty cute, but they do keep trying to steal apples right out of the tree!Special

β¦ They awoke one day to find that they lie at the center of a large fairy ring without a single recollection of who they were, or how they'd gotten there.
β¦ The only things they knew were the soft pillow of lush grass that sat green and glistening with dew beneath them, and the refreshing rustle of a cool breeze through shaded woods that raised their hair and lightly fanned their cheek.
β¦ That was all a long time ago now, but even then the fungi clung to them as naturally as it would to a mossy log in the shade. And they found within, an innate fascination for the tangle of mycelium that wove it's way throughout their glade, unseen, but as widespread as the roots of all the trees. Alive and flourishing.
β¦ Their garden is not as typical as most. Where others would grow ornamental flowers, fruits, or herbs, they instead cultivate all manner and form of mushroom. From Chanterelle to Deadly Webcap, they know them all as well as the back of their hand. It is what comes most natural to them. Less so are their infrequent but always awkward interactions with others. Idle conversation simply isn't their strongest suit, though it's not for lack of trying. One day they dream of forming a stalwart companionship.

β¦ In a planet full of lush growth and vibrant flora, it's no surprise the over-abundant magic that fuels this life would also, in turn, aid the spread of a particular patch of sickly thorns and miasmatic flora. Nestled deep in a particularly dark fracture of the world you may find one satyr that has managed to flourish even in the deadly nest of the Brambleglade. To most, it'd be a marvel just to make a home in a place so inhospitable, but to them, it's all they've known. From the day they sprouted out from ink-marked land they'd spent each day surviving by sheer luck - until knowledge shaped the way to survival. Years come to pass and they find themself perfectly at ease navigating the tangled maws of vegetation and fending off the venomous creatures that crawl beneath. Still, part of their heart wonders is this was all there was to life?
β¦ Occasional happenings of broken weapons, abandoned bags, and torn research journals make no sense to them. Things that were different... things that were other.Β Could it be that there was more out there beyond the thorns? It was a fantasy at best. But ever so often when a ray of sun pierces through even the thick smog and overgrowth, they'd like to believe a dream could become reality. Maybe someday they could be found.
β¦ However, to the locals of the planet one fable is true; once the brambles take grip... they'll never let go of you.

β¦ A browbird who once, had fallen in love with their best friend they grew up with. Oh, how they pined for them... Timid at heart, they nervously waited for the perfect day to confess the feelings they held onto for so long. All of the time they'd spent rehearsing lines and building up the courage to tell their friend... the thought of it made their stomach fill with butterflies!
β¦ In a cruel twist of fate however, just as they felt the time was right, they just so happened to catch a glimpse of their beloved's gaze becoming fixated on... someone else.
β¦ Heartbreak was only the beginning. They tried everything to get over the despair they felt over losing a love so precious to them. No matter what they tried, mending their broken heart felt in vain. It wasn't long until the face of the one who had stolen their beloved's gaze resurfaced in their mind time and time again, as if to torment them. As if to remind the browbird of the chance they had stolen from them.
β¦ Unable to move on, heartbroken browbird finally gave in and let their emotions rot and fester within them. Despair turned to hatred, kindness became malice, slowly giving rise to a proficiency in magics most foul.
β¦ Perhaps a bit of payback? It was a quiet urge that gnawed on them at first, soon growing too strong for them to ignore. Their friend was happy to have found love, right...? No, no... their friend was happy to toss them aside in favor of another. They were happy to let them suffer... so surely they should suffer in return?

This satyr was born of such materials, crafted with love and care to be just as beautiful and helpful as their other creations.
β¦ This satyr grew very fond of their lord, realizing there was more to them than the stoic facade they put on to the public... Every day, they would try to earn their attention and, consider that perhaps, they would have feelings for them too... That there was more to life than just crafting expensive tableware. Every day that passed, they grew more hopeless, and this reflected on their figure; their mask cracking, the gold falling away, soul shattering itself. Horns and tail turning transparent, as they are no more than a ghost to the one they love...Β

β¦Β Satyr flora can spread if two satyrs are around each other often enough.. As such it is not uncommon for lovers and friends to grow the flora of the people they are closest to in their lives.
β¦Β This satyr displays a stunning bouquet of flowers in a wide variety of species, but astonishingly enough they all stemmed originally from one individual satyr. Someone who, unfortunately, is no longer able to be present. Instead the flowers are all they have left to remember them by, like the gentlest of lingering embraces, and they take good care to ensure that each one is healthy and flourishing. In a way, it's a sort of bittersweet reminder to take care of themselves. For if their health should begin to wane, so too would the flowers begin to wilt and wither away.

"β¦ This browbird was born and raised in a hatchery, much like all birds were. However, this nursery also doubled as a Victorian-esque dormitory and boarding school for orphans and unclaimed children.
β¦They became very close with their roommates and the other students, their only friends. The group would often go out together and explore outside in the forest and other surrounding areas. This school seemed to be quite in the middle of nowhereβ¦ So more often than not, they would make up rumors and stories about fearsome beasts and what lay beyond the twisted trees, whose leaves never grew no matter the season.
β¦ Hauntings and ghosts were not unheard of, so naturally, the troop wanted to investigate as per usual. The group often would draw lots as to who had to be the one to be the bait so to speak; who would be brave enough to venture forth and scout the area first.
β¦ This time it was their turn to go first. Being usually shy and reclusive, they would often worm their way out of having to be the scapegoat. However, the group of friends argued that it was not fair to the rest of them, and they should finally show a little courage and do it. Hesitantly, fingers trembling, this bird would go as instructed, to the lone dorm room on the very bottom floor of the castle. The room that had been locked up for years, no student allowed to enter. No one really knew why. Some say a student died here, others say it was inhabited by their spirit, or a monster. Others claim that the real headmaster was behind these doors, or some uncontainable demon. Whatever it was, it had to be hogwash, right?
⦠One of the students, having deviously obtained the key, opens the door with a smirk on their face and gestures this Browbird in. The group all gather behind them, not letting them turned back, and unceremoniously shove them inside. They close the door from the outside⦠And wait.

β¦ Surely this wouldnβt take that long, right? It was just a jokeβ¦ Right? They wait it out a bit moreβ¦. But dead silence. Whispering among themselvesβ¦ they shove someone forward to open the door. It creaks as it slides on its hinges, an eerie, red glow eminating from inside. They called out the browbirds nameβ¦ But no answer.Β Instead, a lone, red eye stares at them from the dark.
β¦A figure whoβs shirt was stained red, multiple limbs and eyes all focused on them with deep accusation. Their very crest, staring at them, itβs gaze shattered from what it saw. What had happened in here? What did you see? You shouldnβt have lookedβ¦ oh, you shouldnβt have looked."
