★ Description:

The fruit of dreams, it's flavor reminds you of something nostalgic. The taste of a memory, but better than you remember it and difficult to describe. It changes form, altering its shape and color to resemble other fruits in response to who takes the first bite. It's impossible to share, as to others it will now only taste of ash. If eaten too soon it will taste of nothing, and when ripe it must be eaten quickly, as they become toxic if left to rot.

 

The plant that produces this rare fruit cannot be grown by wood ancients, and many skilled farmers will tell you its impossible to properly raise one. The first alter plants are mentioned in folk tales as void-like seeds brought back from the Pale Forest with no memory of how they were obtained. The plants now grow across the lands, hidden as mimics of normal plants. Some painted satyr are adept at finding them in the wild, and festivals for finding the strangest alter fruit are held in small country towns!
