    ...

Rare masks can have up to two materials, these are called "split masks". This opens the door to many combinations when creating new designs! You are able to have features from both mask materials, and even combine them in some cases. A good example would be creating crystalwood, which wood with crystal veins running through it. Keep in mind that the combinations allowed by a split mask are never more than the sum of their parts. Entirely new and unlisted effects aren't created from this!

Using a split mask requires that you pick one aspect from each material, you do not need any additional items/traits to apply these aspects as they are included for free alongside the mask materials you chose!

⚡ Embellished Mask

⚡ Embellished Mask (★Uncommon)

Category: Mask
Species: Painted Satyr

🌈 APPLIED WITH:

Size: Can combined cover up to 50% of the mask

✅ Embellishments can match the mask material of the satyr in texture. (ex: metal raised filigree, small forehead gemstone, wooden trims, etc)
✅ Carvings are shallow and can have inlays matching the mask material of the satyr if they have a metal, ice, or gemstone mask.
✅ This trait can extend to mask horns/spikes in cases like clay, stone, and meteor masks
✅ Can have small portions that stick up/extend off the mask very slightly.
✅ Stitching is small and thin and can have very small holes. It can't be removed! If the satyr also has missing sense it can stitch the eyes closed.

❌ Carvings cannot resemble cracks, large holes, breaks, larged carved out areas
❌ Embellishments should be clear addons (carvings, stitching, or raised areas) rather than large flat portions of material or flat patterns. You don't need this trait to add flat mask markings, stitch "scars"/markings, beards, flora, or piercings!
❌ Cannot entirely obstruct the eyes or mouth. This trait only accentuates the mask!
❌ Does not modify base face anatomy!

⚡ Blighted Mask

⚡ Blighted Mask (★Mythic)

Category: Mask
Species: Painted Satyr
🌈 This is an ITEM ONLY [limited] trait and cannot be obtained with a Mythic trait potion, grant, trait purchases, or MYO traits. Can only be applied to a painted satyr using a Shattered Shot.

🌈 APPLIED WITH:

Trait: Applies a break in part of the mask to expose the soul underneath
Size: Can affect up to 30% of the mask. Blight can flow up to 1.5x head height away from the mask hole.

✅ An elemental or magical effect can seep from the break, this can be anything as long as it corresponds to an ASPECT or a TRAIT the character has. So for example a blight made of floating stars could be pulled from star markings, the arcane aspect, or a stag's mark! Eyes within the blight could be perception, nightmare, eye markings, extra eyes, or any eye trait!
✅ Some effects are a "general appearance" which can be used regardless of aspect! Things like fire, wispy effects, floating liquid, or glow are fine to incorporate regardless of design!
✅ You can combine effects
✅ Blight can be any color and optionally glow, be translucent, and have sparkles
✅ Blight can have particles that float close to and within the blight effect
✅ Blight can contain any plant types present in the satyrs flora, or ANY plants if paired with wood aspect
✅ Blight can lightly affect a small amount of hair where the blight effect is located
✅ Can be paired with cracked mask and would allow the cracks to seep small amounts of elements as well!
✅ Can contain shattered parts of the mask floating within it

❌ The blight effect cannot resemble any of the following to not overlap with other traits:

  • Living creatures
  • Exposed skull bone
  • Weapon impalement or physical real weapons
  • Extra solid limbs
  • Crystal or ice growing ON the mask
  • Detailed physical objects, plushies, solid coins, etc cannot be part of the blight or floating within it. The exceptions are things like crystals, plants, etc that clearly appear elemental!
  • Missing eyes (lost eyes are not a trait)
  • Elemental eyes
  • Extra ears, extra horns (ie: unicorn horn), or feathers

❌ Blight does not make other parts of the head, horns, eyes, mouth, ears, etc elemental.
❌ Blight is not a hole in the head and would not show what's inside the head. It is a hole through soul, so it is similar to peering into "another dimension". All effects should clearly appear to be coming from inside the mask, not growing atop of it or causing the mask to appear to be made of a different material.
❌ Cannot remove the entire mouth
❌ Cannot only be cracks or only be small holes, must have a large or continous main break

NOTE: FIRST IMAGE IS OUTDATED, EXAMPLES WILL BE UPDATED SOON!

The aspects and traits listed here are possible individual options for getting that blight effect! "General Appearance" means anyone design can use it!
