The elusive cosmic eggplant is only ever found growing on the same sweet comets that stargold is mined from. For some reason, they only grow on the comets that drift along the ley lines, but it's assumed by most botanists in the field that this specific exposure to magic is required to trigger germination of the seeds. Cosmic eggplants are considered an extremely valuable resource hunted by cometchasers and farmed successfully only by an extremely rare minority of experienced and lucky farmers. It's rumored that they have transformative powers.
