Rare and special styli imbued with magical aura can be used to write with magic itself. No ink is required other than the crystal that inhabits the stylus and its arcane properties, and anything inscribed using one of these implements carves deeper than the surface, reaching into the very soul or root of the thing instead. These intensely powerful devices work in a way that rewrites the very aura of a person receiving runes, weaving the magic directly into the threads that make them up. Although it's possible to remove runes applied in this way, it's extremely difficult and often painful.
