★ About

It’s nighttime. The Inkwell is surrounded by decorative floating lights, masks, and strange candy. The inkdrops in your pockets are quivering with anticipation, or perhaps excitement. You don’t know why yet, but you’ll know soon. When the spherical face of the full moon is high in the sky, it’s like a seal breaks as a fountain of ink bursts out of the Inkwell. You’re not fully conscious for what happens next, but you feel the time pass in flashes: glowing runic circles, contorting bodies, flesh morphing into a new shape, and the heavy weight of the void upon your mind. The world is hazy and dream-like, a strange mist fogging the edges of your vision, and music begins to wind through the air like a beseeching wheedle. Is this real? Are you awake right now, or is this a dream? Maybe a nightmare? The clearing is full of beasts and monsters all lost in the music of the night — and you’re one of them.

Draw or write about your character in a monstrous form.

✦ Does their transformation align with in world phenomena such as the halv curse, hollowing, or becoming a revenant? Are they a monster from a fairytale, folklore, or urban myth?

✦ What chaos ensues at the Inkwell? How does your character react to this unexpected transformation? Are they intrigued or intimidated by it? Are they lost in the excitement of the party?

✦ What does the visual aspect of your character’s transformation represent to them? Is there anything from their past that would be of personal significance to them?

✦ Or maybe they haven’t transformed, but they’re dressed to blend in. What does your character dress up as? A vampire? A werewolf? A ghost?
