Wisher's Well

[✨💎] Weekly Gift Art or Writing Activity! Resets at the end of each Saturday.

Details

★ The activity can be done once a week! ★

★ About the Wisher's Well ★

There are many legends told across the Astral Seas of lakes, ponds, rifts and wells that are said to grant a wish if you toss in some stargold. All wishes are welcome at these places, though it's rare that a body of water will ever contain the magic needed.

The Wisher's Well in the Magician's District of Centuary is different though. It is a place of true, potent magic that has stood at the center of the district's plaza for centuries. Though what it does is a bit different from what one may expect from a traditional magical well.

Rather than dropping in coins, you are to place something of value into the well and when you do so, the well spits out some stargold for you to take. The item you left will then find it's way to the person it is meant for, granting their wish. Perhaps one day when you make your way by the well, it will have a gift for you that was left by another!

★ About Horn Engraving

A characteristic that many species of the Celestial Seas share is their horns, which come in a variety of shapes and sizes. After existing for thousands of years with such a feature, various beliefs and customs began to form around horns.

When visiting any place with a large population of browbirds, it's likely that you'll see the occasional person with intricately carved horns. Sometimes they appear in abstract swirls, while others will have detailed carvings that seem to tell a story in its design. The exact style and symbolism behind each carving often relates to where the person is from, what symbols are important to them, and why they got the carvings in the first place.

Carved horns are usually made to be more striking than your average horn. Some even go so far as to paint these carvings in vibrant colors to further accent what it represents. Carvings are often done to mark someone as a person who has accomplished a great feat in their life. What this feat could be is just about any kind of positive event, either for the one being carved or for those they may have helped.

Any species can come to have carved horns, and the reasons for why one would have their horns carved is as varied as there is stars in the sky. It can sometimes be a reward for an act of good in the eyes of others, or the mark of a true hero that stands out from the rest, or simply something of great personal significance that they would want to remember.

Carvings are important because they will last on ones horns long after death as permanent marks of the good things that person did. Thus, their story lives on.

★ Prompt

Draw or write about an event of importance from your character's life.

Did your character ever save someone? Perhaps they are a local hero to whatever town they call home. They could have heroically defeated a monster terrorizing a city, or they could have befriended a great beast. Maybe they won some kind of contest or championship, like a gladiator battle or magical duel, or even something like a food eating competition.

Or it could be that, at some point in their life, they accomplished something of personal significance. They could have overcome a great struggle despite all odds stacked against them. Maybe their most impactful moment was an act of love, the time when they confessed or proposed to someone they cared about.

A serious event, a funny circumstance, or just another day in the life! Think of what sort of experience best suits your character!

And We Got Older

Category: Quests

[✨💎🌈] ★ Depict your character at various stages in their life. Earn a quest-only trait! ★

Details

And We Got Older Banner by Browbird

★ About

As the hands of time move forward, we do as well. People come and go, seasons pass, battles are fought, towns are built, change is all around us. Where we come from, every experience we have and the people who grow alongside us will each leave their own impact, shaping us into who we are today and who we will be tomorrow.

Browbirds, painted satyr and kitbulls come from all across the stars, so it's only natural they would grow up in all sorts of places. With time, a browbird may decide to leave their home to explore the local area, their entire world, or even set sail for the stars. Where one may never experience the cold starry sea air in their lifetime, another may have spent their entire life seeing different worlds.

For most, growing old is an inevitable part of life. Some may eventually grow tired of travel and decide to settle down, while others may not begin their journey until much later in their life.

The lives of those in the Celestial-Seas can vary immensely as each individual has their own story to share!

★ Prompt

Draw or write about how your character has grown and will change throughout their lifetime.
Depict your character as a child and as an adult (their current design) to show how they have changed over the years.

You can optionally include additional stages, such as a version of them in their teen years, or future versions of the character as a way to explore your hypothetical plans for the design. In a future older version, you can add features that are your goals for the character (Example, if you do not yet have broken horns you could add them to the "future" older version of the character if you plan to get them)!  While the design does not officially have those traits yet, it can be fun to ponder the possibilities!

Please be mindful of group rules and do not use these hypothetical designs as the current "canon" design.

✦✦✦

Was your character raised by their family? Were riches bestowed upon them from birth, or were they left to fend for themselves with nothing but a blanket to keep them warm? Perhaps they wandered off from home in the middle of the night wondering what that glowing bright light in the distance harbored.

As your character grew, were they the sort who could do no wrong, or maybe they were an absolute troublemaker always pulling pranks on unsuspecting victims.

How did their local traditions affect how they dressed or who they aspired to be? How has the way they express themself change over the years?  Did they ever travel far from home and if so; Do they still feel close to where they came from?

Were they surrounded by others for most throughout their life, or were they the sort who was left alone, either by choice or through an unfortunate turn of events?

From when they're a child, teenager, adult, and old, think about how your character's surroundings and experiences shape who they are!

★ Species

Browbirds, Kitbulls, Painted Satyr

Example of baby vs. adult versions.

Browbird Grow Up by Browbird

✦ Browbirds don't have a fully formed crest until they become an adult!
✦ Browbirds don't show signs of their second aspect until they become an adult.
✦ Their horns will often be much smaller or even not yet grown when they are younger.
✦ Runic markings, broken horns, and horn carvings are applied traits and may not be on a young child browbird.
They are incredibly fluffy as babies!

Kitbull Grow Up by Browbird

✦ Kittles often don't have as many colors and markings when compared to their adult selves
✦ A kittle likely wouldn't have any mutations or peculiars yet since they would gain those slowly over their life. So wings, horns, flaming fur, and the like would not yet show up on a young kittle!

Satyr Grow Up by Browbird

✦ Runic markings and horn carvings are applied traits and may not be on a young child satyr.
✦ Their horns and sometimes their tail appear as small sprouts instead.
✦ Any flora they grow will appear as sprouts that gradually changes over their life into their usual flora.

✦ Painted satyr have many ways in which they come into being. For those that are born normally they would look much more like a regular baby. But for those who are created through magic and mud, they might resemble the cute onion-shaped fellows shown here for a little while!

✦ Painted satyr can also come into being through having their mask placed over the body of a dead humanoid and then buried in a place that has a natural source of power (Such as near a magic tree). For characters like this, feel free to possibly show a scene from their past life before being reborn as a painted satyr!

Shattered Past

Category: Quests

[2 Prompts || ✨💎🌈] ★ Everyone has a low point in their life. What was your character's? ★

Details

Shattered Past by Browbird

★ About

Throughout the Celestial Seas, horns of some kind growing from the head is a common sight. Such a widespread feature is bound to have importance assigned to it, and so many people take time to paint, decorate, or even carve the horns that crown their heads as a means to express themself or shown pride in their accomplisments. Even masks, while not as commonly found on other creatures as they are on painted satyr, hold a similar amount of importance to the ones who bear them.

For Browbirds, horns are held in high regards and is a core part of their traditions. Horn carvings for browbirds are often only granted to someone who has accomplished a great feat, and thus their story will last forever as carved pictures. Their horns are naturally very sturdy and known for being difficult to break, thus special tools or specialized magical spells are often needed to carve or modify horns. A horn simply snapping off is practically unheard of for a horn to simply break, outside of the very young having a clumsy accident. Thus, a broken or cracked horn will draw attention and cause concern, due to being such a rare sight, as well as the negative symbolism it holds.

In places that follow traditional practices closely, if a browbird were to fail at an important task bestowed upon them they would be punished with one or both horns, depending on the severity of the mistake, being broken by a weapon made for the task. The same fate could happen to those who betray the trust of their people for personal gain, or suffer a great defeat in battle against a great foe. Not only would this serve as a symbol to all of one's failures, but for those with horns carved it could mean a devastating loss of history engraved upon them. Horns broken through these means as the mark of someone is untrustworthy, dangerous, or rightfully outcast and may result in the bearer of the shattered horns being turned away or shunned by the place they once called home.

When it comes to Kitbulls, injury is very rare, practically unheard of. Kitbulls are beings made entirely of magic, rather than flesh and blood and normally when harming one they will explode or regenerate. However, when a kitbull absorbs magical energy full of negativity they can sometimes become sick and weak, causing their horns to become brittle and easily crack and snap off if they were to be injured. A kitbull with broken horns could very well be a sick and struggling kitbull.

Regular injury is possible for kitbulls as well that can cause their horns to break. The can be possessive beings when it comes to their magical item hoards, so a lone adventurer attempting to rob a kitbull will likely find themself in a fierce battle. There are also other reasons a kitbull could fight, entire wars between large groups of kitbulls happen often right under everyone's noses, and there have also been whispers of a secret place where kitbulls fight brutal battles in the Centuary sewers.

Painted Satyrs have horns that break often and easily due to being soft and plant-like rather than hard and sturdy, every satyr will break their horns at some point, and once broken they will quickly regrow. Masks on the other hand are a central part of their culture and beliefs as they are what holds a satyr's soul. A crack across the mask of a painted satyr, however small, is a clear and visible sign that causes concern and stress for all who understand the meaning behind it.

Masks are not capable of cracking at all without something deeper at work, so even blunt force to the face alone will not cause any sort of break. Those with cracks have suffered something drastic and terrible in their life that has affected them to the point where their soul itself is damaged. This could be an injury, trauma, failure, a great burden, or something else entirely. Over time, the crack will gradually grow if the satyr represses what caused it, however they are always able to heal from these cracks if steps are taken to recover.

This prompt has 2 parts! Each are considered their own prompt and will grant rewards. You must do each as its own prompt and submit them separately  and in order. You cannot do both as one piece.

★ Prompt 1

Depict a time in your character's life when they were at their lowest and/or when they failed at something extremely important. How did they feel when they were in such a dark place?
...

✦✦✦

For every person there comes a time where things take a turn for the worse. Did your character ever enter a battle, convinced they could never be defeated, only to end up at the mercy of their opponent.

Or perhaps they were given an important quest, only to fail at the task given to them or run away from responsibility out of fear or weakness. There are those who do everything they can and yet the worst still came to pass, and they now must live with the haunting memories of what their decisions or inaction have caused. Guilt is a heavy burden to bear, especially when it feels there is no proper way to atone for one's mistakes.

Did your character lose someone? Were they ever left behind or hurt by those they loved or trusted?

How did they handle this negative or traumatic experience? Was what happened entirely their fault, or brought on by another?

★ Prompt 2

Depict how your character has overcome the low point shown in the previous prompt, or if they are still dealing with it, what are they currently doing to improve or heal?
...

✦✦✦

When something terrible takes place it can be hard to see any hope for the future, but it is important to still move forward. How did your character come to terms with what happened? Did they try to atone or apologize for their mistakes? Did they completely leave their previous life behind? Or perhaps they returned later on to do the right thing this time.

Is it possible your character still is coming to terms with whatever took place in their past? Sometimes the pain of such evident scars will never truly subside, but one can find ways to live life again despite events they may struggle to come to terms with. There is always a tomorrow to look forward to.

Crafting by Browbird

★ About

Many people of the Celestial Seas find themselves interested in taking on some kind of crafting profession, either to follow their own personal interests or out of necessity. Whether it's a weapon needed to smite the local demon, a mysterious machine, or a hand-woven basket, each item has its purpose and the journey to gather the required materials could be as simple as a trip to the market, or lead on a long quest across the stars.

For some, creating something new is a one time quest or a side hobby, while many others dedicate their life to mastering their art and sharing it. It can be done for profit, out of obligation, for someone's own personal enjoyment, or for the enjoyment of others. There are any number of reasons why someone may find themself at a work bench, in front of a stove, or with magical parchments and crystals placed before them.

Whatever the craft, there is likely a reason it became part of someone's life whether it be mundane or fantastical.

This prompt has 3 parts! Each is considered its own prompt and will grant its own rewards. You must do each prompt in order and submit them separately to this post. You cannot do multiple as one piece.

Once you do all of these quests on a single character, you will permanently unlock crafting for your entire account.
You will not have to do a quest for each recipe (Though some may have certain requirements) and once you unlock crafting you will not lose it event if you trade the character it was unlocked on!

Crafting can be completed one time per character. Character's who have completed crafting will have it added to their description.

Click for Part 1 Prompt

★ Prompt 1

Draw or describe your character's crafting station. Consider what it says about the character and how they conduct themself in their craft! Try to show how they use the station and what sorts of items they may make with it.

✦✦✦

Has your character dedicated an area within their home so they can carefully control their crafting environment, or do they have a separate studio or shop they work from, maybe they have set up outdoors so they can admire their surroundings and stay close to the materials they need! Is their workstation immaculate where everything they use has a place and is kept in perfect order, or are they constantly leaving their materials out while wondering where that piece of starwood they were just holding has disappeared to? What kind of setup do they need to create, is it more rustic, entirely magical, or do they use state of the art technology?

Does your character work entirely alone, or do they have an apprentice or assistants? Are they themself an apprentice? Perhaps your character's craft can be done on the go and they are able to bring all their work supplies with them. Do they take the time to seek out an area where they can work in peace, or do they find themselves inside a local inn where they can listen to and share stories with others?

★ Prompt 2

Where does your character get their crafting materials? Are they the sort who must venture out into the wilderness in search of components, or can everything they need be found at the local market?

✦✦✦

For some, the challenge of slaying a great beast for its hide or scales to use in armor and potions can be a thrilling activity, but others prefer quiet walks through the forest picking mushrooms and herbs. Venturing into dark caverns may be the only way to find the special crystals and ores needed, but some projects will require you to scavenge through trash heaps instead.

Rather than go through the effort of finding materials themselves, it's possible they may pay others to do it for them, or they have a particular seller they rely on the provide them with top-quality components. There are also those who may steal from the market or their competition in order to save some cash.

Think about what your character requires for their craft and how they normally source their supplies!

✦✦✦

What was the first item they made, and how did it turn out? How much have they improved since then?

What first sparked your character's interest to make this item that they are proud of? Were they inspired by their surroundings, was it something taught to them by their family.  Did they once meet someone experienced that taught them what they needed to know to get started, or were they holed up in a library doing reseach to learn a new skill.

[✨💎☀️🏆] ★ EVENT PROMPT || Time to take a trip to Harara! ★

Details

And We Got Older Banner by Browbird

★ About

The bright sun shines down upon the city of Harara, almost blinding as it bounces and reflects off of the dazzling architecture. People file into the streets as they arrive from all corners of the Celestial Seas, brought here to participate in King Heru’s magnificent festivities. These new arrivals gaze in awe at the city’s grandeur, staring up at gleaming skyscrapers flooded with lights and distracting themselves with the countless vendors that line the sidewalks, selling equally as dazzling wares to the tourists. Even during the day, the city’s bright spotlights illuminate the polished stone buildings with rainbows. The city itself is an oasis among the stars, and now more than ever it is abound with new life.

Booming voices echo through the boulevard from massive screens, anchors drumming up excitement for the upcoming games hosted by the King himself. Framing each television are posters made from glimmering threads that depict large winged beasts flying through the air, warriors fighting in hand-to-hand combat, and all species alike showing off grand feats of magic. After each broadcast, Heru’s brilliant face overlooks the city and its new guests, echoing messages of welcome, encouraging visitors to head to the city center to learn more and participate. As these visitors shuffle down the main promenade, the city’s residents take this opportunity to spice up their own attractions. Smaller casinos ring with the sound of machines and adrenaline, and the hotels along this main road seem overwhelmed by the amount of new guests pouring in. Stores sell outrageous and luxurious clothing and jewelry, stocking the most popular and up to date items revered by any self-proclaimed fashionistas. Countless streets branch off from it with their own unique sets of stores, restaurants, and activities, beaconing to be explored.

Many find themselves swept up in the thralls of Harara before they even lay eyes upon one of its crown jewels, a favorite location of the pharaoh, a massive golden structure that sits at the middle of the city's central district. People shuffle in and out of the looming entrance and from within the sound of music and festivity can be heard. A dark-colored browbird with striking hair and a shimmering golden crest waits in the entryway, her arms filled with pamphlets and trinkets that she hands out to passers-by, ushering them to visit the hotel and casino with great enthusiasm.

Azimuth by Browbird

She introduces herself as Azimuth, the leading guide of the city and current spokesperson of Harara Brouhaha. A tour group approaches and she jogs over, quickly placing fliers into each of their hands, her face lighting up as they begin to ask questions about the city and its activities. She leads the group around the most crowded areas of this district and makes mentions of the many events to come.

Hundreds of visitors already mill about the casino entrance, swept up in the countless activities already kicking off. Possibly the most striking features of this room are the many tables lining the walls, filled with sweet and savory goods alike. Fried foods entice passers by to dig in, and hearty sweets seem to convince even the hardiest of people to start eating. Complimenting the foods is a vast array of multicolored sparkling drinks, magically cooled by unmelting ice that provides the sweetest relief from the hot desert sun. Slot machines, roulette, and tables packed with card games are already in full swing, and occasionally cheers erupt when a particularly lucky attendee wins a jackpot. The sound of celebration and gambling is almost nonstop, boosted by the wildly colorful slot machines that line the place.

★ Prompt

Draw or write about your character exploring, relaxing, or playing games at the casino or hotel!
What sorts of activities would your character be interested in while visiting?

✦✦✦

Harara Brouhaha by Browbird

✦ Most visitors to Harara will choose to stay at the Harara Brouhaha and other local hotels as rooms are available for free during large yearly celebrations like this one. Priority is given to game participants, but people from all walks of life can still enjoy all the luxuries the hotel has to offer and have easy access to explore the city, shop, and perhaps try a little gambling while waiting for the coming games.

✦ The main areas of the casino are spacious and brightly lit. The floors are covered in detailed patterned tiles and finely woven rugs that lead the eye towards central sitting areas surrounding golden fountains with a rainbow of lanterns strung above them. Many rooms are filled with casino games, slots, roulette, poker, blackjack, and various specialty games where one can use any tokens they earn while in the city. It's normally fairly crowded but it's not impossible to find an opening to squeeze in somewhere. The place is packed to the brim with restaurants and places to sit down and have a drink or dessert!

✦ Don't try to use magic to cheat the system though, runic wards line the baseboards and pillars of every room to prevent any kind of cheating! Magical abilities are greatly weakened here, putting everyone on the same level when playing casino games.

Illustrate or write about how your character spends their nights while in the city.

✦✦✦

Harara never experiences true nights; rather the night begins when the moon eclipses the sun for several hours each day, causing the sky to darken. "Night" in Harara during big events is often more colorful and energetic than during the day, with a rainbow of neon city lights that reflect off the beautiful clear waters flowing beside the roads. Obscure restaurants open their doors, celebrations can be heard from many buildings, and performers put their stunning magic on display throughout the plazas. With everything going on, it'd be easy to stay out all night!

[✨💎☀️🌈] ★ EVENT PROMPT || Soar across the city skies in the sol roc relay ★

Details

Sol Roc Relay by Browbird

★ About

Races performed while riding a sol roc are commonplace in Harara, and the largest of these races are held at this time each year. Many local Hararans train for many years to build a bond with their sol roc and work hard in preparation for the relay and there are many families and guilds who pride themself on their sol roc accomplishments, and rivalries are commonplace.

However, anyone is allowed to participate this year! The king himself has opened his stables to allow newcomers the chance to ride one of his many sol rocs for those who may not have one.

Sol rocs are massive, intelligent birds that are often used as traveling mounts by many people in Harara. There are two types, one being the more grounded species that is used as a work animal, and the other more sleek and popular for flying and as pets. They come in many colorations and can have any sort of pattern you could imagine. There are many who will seek out a sol roc that matches their personal aesthetic!

Sol Roc Design by Browbird

High above the city in the ancient forest tower, racers sit upon their chosen mount waiting on stone launch pads placed just within the building with large archways leading out into the sky. A crowd of people who were lucky enough to have claimed spots so close to the start of the race eagerly await the sound of fireworks, a sure signal that the race has has begun.

★ Prompt

Draw or write about your character riding on the back of a Sol Roc and participating in the race.
What happens while they're racing? Do they win this round with their skill and experience, or do they find themself fumbling, unfamiliar with riding a flying beast.

✦✦✦

Relay Map by Browbird

✦ The sol roc relay is a team-based event with three members and three sol rocs to each team and many teams flying all at once! The race is split up into three section with one racer on each team completing each part, it's recommended you volunteer for the section your sol roc is best at. At each flagged spot the rider will be expected to hand off a flag to their waiting team member.

Speed --> The shortest part of the race. Who can fly launch from the starting place within the forest tower and reach the next pass the fastest? Soar with blinding speed over the forest, beach, and ocean! This part ends when the rider passes their banner while airborne above the lone submerged pyramid. A ring of magical light suspended in the air marks the general area where the pass takes place.

Endurance --> The longest part of the race. A scenic route over the forests and river on the outskirts of Harara. The rider and sol roc have to make it all the way around the outer wall and curve back into the city where they'll  then head towards the densest part of the city to pass off the banner to a waiting team member at the top of the port spire.

Skill --> A moderate length section. The rider will be swerving through rings dotted around an obstacle course of dense city streets packed with buildings, star ships, and flying vehicles. Sharp turns, sudden stops, and precision are needed to make it through without issue.

The race is finished when the final racer reaches the goal, a large platform on the top of the forest tower.

✦ Fans of the race are dotted around, from the starting area, to the beaches, to the city walls, and finally there are many audience members cheering from the finish line!

Showing all the sections of this race is optional, but if you do they must be included in a single prompt submission. You are able to draw your or write about character flying on their sol roc in just one part of the race, but we do encourage users to go all out and create comic entries and long written works describing all three sections with three different characters and three different sol rocs!

[✨💎☀️🌈] ★ EVENT PROMPT || Test your strength against fierce warriors and powerful beasts ★

Details

★ About

Tests of strength in Harara take on many forms, from underground fighting rings to esteemed brawler's guilds. During large fighting competitions, all are welcome to brandish their weapons and face off against powerful opponents to see who can accumulate the most victories.

These battles are all about raw power, defense, speed, precision, and weapon skill. A mystic ward that dampens all magical abilities is placed on the fighting field, so the fighters only have your most basic skills to rely on.  However, all weapons are allowed so long as no magical effects are used, so you're free to use anything from swords and spears, to fists and claws.

While it's encouraged to be honorable in these bouts, there are many who don't mind fighting dirty. After all... There are only two rules: don't kill your opponent, and do whatever it takes to win.

Don't worry about getting rough if you're hesitant to fight someone else, there are those with healing magic capabilities on standby to mend any dire wounds sustained by those who participate in these fights.

★ Prompt

Draw or write about your character battling in the grand Harara coliseum.
Consider what weapons they would use and their fighting style.  Use of aspects in the ring are strictly prohibited! Only natural strength and speed can be relied on here. All weapons are allowed and you can be as rough as you want so long as your opponent doesn't die!

✦✦✦

✦ While the sandstone exterior and seating areas are constantly maintained and decorated to the finest order, the pit itself is a simplistic circular battle ring at the center with tall arching gates that line the pit and close behind fighters as they enter. The competitors fight on dry dirt in clear view of the spectators at the center of it all. Fights are always held during the hottest hours of the day, adding a level of endurance to the battles as the sun's rays bake the earth and bleach the dusty ground in a stark, almost blinding white.

✦ Weapons are offered to those who step into the ring if they did not bring their own, however there are also several scattered around the field and sticking up from the earth to add an extra level of surprise to the fight.

✦ Would your character fight for honor and glory? Are they interested in earning the awe of the crowd and impressing the pharaoh? Or are they only in this for riches, not caring what others think as they do whatever it takes to win. Either way, participants are encouraged to put on a great show!

✦ The battle is finished when one fighter gives up, is no longer able to fight, or is knocked completely unconscious.

Who will reign victorious?

How does your character show their strength?

[✨💎☀️🌈] ★ EVENT PROMPT || Show off your aspects in flashy performance-like battles! ★

Details

★ About

Dramatic music pours from the speakers and a rainbow of light envelops the stage as enthusiastic announcers bellow in amazement following each spell that springs forth from the hands and breath of the mages. The auditorium at the center of the Casino is lit by bright sparks of magical energy clashing as two opposing forces must channel all of their aura into a series of their best incantations. The stands are completely packed with an energetic audience cheering with each brilliant blast, going silent with each tense moment, and hollering when one mage outsmarts the other. This is what it's like in the arena during one of the Hararan magic shows!

The goal of this competition is to push one's aspects to their limits and create the most fantastical design to impress Heru, while at the same time dueling another magic user in an attempt to knock them out. Contestants can choose to focus on their own creations, destroy those made by their competition, or battle to last the longest while fighting at full power.

Out of all of the competitions, this one seems to take the most mental fortitude, and many contestants can be seen pushing themselves to their limits to make something more dazzling than the last! Will you be able to win the King’s favor?

★ Prompt

Draw or write about your character showing off their aspects in a spectacular display.
They are down at the center stage with bright lights focused on them and an entire crowd waiting with baited breath to see what comes next. A fellow magic-user stands at the opposite end of the arena prepared to fight with all their magical might.

✦✦✦

✦ The structure of this room is similar to one of the outdoor coliseums, but a closer look reveals key differences in the details. At the center of the arena is a floor made of polished stone with a slight sparkle to it. The support pillars are decorated in intricate patterns and carvings and there seems to be a strange energy in the air that heightens magical abilities somewhat. It's all held at the very center of the casino, and while many different types of shows and battles may take place here, it's true purpose is for magical arts.

✦ When your character takes the stage, how will they display their abilities?  By creating artistic renditions that they believe might earn the favor of the Sun King? Maybe they can win by tricking and trapping their foe? Or is all out force the way to go?

How does your character display their magic?

Sol Roc Relay by Browbird

★ About

Part of the crowd at the ceremony falls into the abyss that opened up beneath them.

Down, down, down...

Thankfully, most are skilled enough to catch themself with their magic if they do not have the ability to fly. Those who were not able to react fast enough were rescued by others and by some luck no one was seriously injured from the fall. As the dust settles and the group is able to collect themselves, everyone takes a moment to look around their new surroundings with a mixture of confusion and awe.

Rather than a dark cavern, around them is a shimmering golden chamber covered in mysteriously glowing crystals, large statues and ancient technology. Unfortunately, the destruction caused by the falling floor has covered a good portion of the room in rubble and debris, leaving much of the intricate machinery in disrepair.

A single cloaked figure leaps from the smoke, a small body shake relieving their attire of any stray rubble. Their eye is directed upwards, looking for any route to escape as he holds the grand prize tightly in his hand. His expression is difficult to read, but there is a twinge of annoyance at a plan that worked a little too well.

Mosaic, on the other hand, is nowhere to be seen.

From far above, Heru stalls with his great wings and observes the scene below. While the collapse of this section of the building has disabled the wards completely, he realizes that a wonderful opportunity has presented itself. Not one to pass up a chance at theatrics, he clears his throat and begins to shout in a booming voice amplified by magic to ensure all below can hear him.

“Noble contestants of my grand games! Heed my call! This momentous event has been sabotaged and grand prize stolen by none other than the hooded figure there before you! It must be reclaimed, and he must be defeated! You have made it this far, show me what you can do! Reclaim my prize so that this event can have the conclusion it deserves! Show me that you are worthy!”

The thief opens his second eye in preparation for a fight.

★ Prompt

Draw or write your character engaging in the final battle.
Competition participants and event-goers have been flung deep below the Casino into a mysterious ancient city...

✦✦✦

✦ Consider your faction and how your character may act in this situation. Is your character the sort who would rush to the aid of the unfortunate bystanders who got caught up in the mess? Or would they try to face the thief to prevent his escape? Would they fight simply to stop the criminal, or do they have their eyes set on the prize? Perhaps they just want to escape!

✦ The chamber is several levels beneath the casino, but the hole created by the thief's magic reaches all the way to the Casino's ceiling allowing the starlight and eclipsed sun to shine down below. Various levels of forgotten halls and ancient underground structures are revealed. This place is filled with ancient technology with large interlocking gears turning endlessly and crystals of concentrated magic emerging from the dusty earth. Large statues stand tall and overlook the room. This place likely would have looked breathtaking if not for the rubble from the collapsed floors above.

What does your character do?
