Shale is a stoic browbird with a rough past as a criminal mercenary. He left that line of work to become a martial arts instructor in order to use his combat skills to mentor others. He has an incredibly generous heart despite his rough disposition, and would do anything to make sure his students are led down the right path. In his free time, he volunteers at his local library and spends time with his significant other, Arlowe.
