Following new frost to distant lands, only to disappear once more when the summer arrives...In some parts, it is thought that their presence marks the coming cold, and people will ready themselves by draping blankets over their doors to keep the frigid air out of their homes.

✦ Very few have thought to approach them, but those who were kind enough to offer up a place at their hearth, to warm them as they enjoyed a hearty meal. Those who did so would later find their kindness repaid tenfold. Aid coming to them throughout the winter in their most trying of times, whenever they least expected it.
