One would think having wet hair would make it easy to pick detritus out. Juno however was uncertain. Plucking at a soggy piece of moss which stubbornly clung to strands of Abyssalon’s hair. 

Of course the one time their friend sits calmly for them they end up struggling to even get a grip on anything caught within his hair. Growing frustrated she flicked at the moss in a last act of spite before turning their focus over to some duckweed by Abyssalon’s shoulder. A stick caught within his hair caught Juno’s eye as they brushed away the little round leaves. Trapped shockingly close to Abyssalon’s ear.

Reaching for it their fingers made contact with a deceptively wet, squishy stick. That didn’t feel right. Abyssalon squirmed, writhing in discomfort as the stick was slowly dislodged. It too was frustratingly stubborn but the reason became obvious as Juno pulled it free.

In their hand was a long, fat brown mottled slug. It had to be about as long as their hand. How it managed to go unnoticed for so long was beyond them. The vile acidic taste of bile rose to Juno’s mouth. Quickly they launched the wriggling invertebrate away. Watching it sail over Abyssalon, landing on the wet grass.

The movement catching Abyssalon’s focus. Quickly before Juno could utter a single word, darted a hand out towards the discarded molluscs bringing it just as quickly to his mouth. An audible squelch being heard as Juno’s friend snacked away on the unlucky snail.
