[BROWTOBER] Full Moon

Enchanted items

It was a nice, cozy evening. The weather was cold and rainy, but inside Morpheus’ hut there was a bright little fire lighting up the room and filling it with its warmth. When Morpheus looked out the window he saw the large emerald pond beside his porch. Gushes of wind and raindrops danced on its surface, causing countless ripples that grew larger and larger until they eventually faded.

Morpheus shifted his gaze back to the table he was sitting at. There was a strange item in front of him. It was some kind of winged hat he had found earlier when he was out by the inkwell. It looked kind of harmless but there was a peculiar air about it. This thing was definitely enchanted. The question was: What could it do? Was it going to bring him a fortune? Would it make him able to fly outside the Dreamscape? Or was it something else entirely? Morpheus took the hat into both of his hands. Holding it like this he didn’t feel like it affected him in any way. No flying outside the dream realm then, huh. With a silent sigh he moved it around a little, turning it here and there as he inspected it in detail. It didn’t really reveal anything new.

Normally Morpheus felt intrigued by enchanted stuff. But this hat didn’t give off the impression that it would have a bigger use for him. “Better just to sell it…”, he mumbled to himself. There was going to be a market soon anyway. At least he was getting some stargold out of this.

Full Moon & Found Footage

The forest was quiet tonight. A beautiful full moon illuminated the treetops with its gentle light and bathed everything in silver. A perfect circle in the starry night sky. The air felt crisp because of the low temperatures in this kind of season. Autumn took full hold of the surroundings. There were colorful leaves everywhere - although you wouldn’t be able to tell right now.

Even with his outstanding nightvision Morpheus was not able to make out any colors aside from different shades of gray. The Painted Satyr let his gaze wander over the thick bushes and then focused on the ground. The soil smelled damp as he bent down to inspect it. Morpheus reached out and carefully traced the edges of a fresh trail with the tips of his fingers. These kinds of footprints were not common for this part of the woods. The first time Morpheus had noticed them was about three days before.

The prints were big - definitely from some type of larger creature. If he had to guess he’d say at least the size of a grown man. Morpheus followed the trail with his eyes. They were headed to the North - deeper into the woods. Hard to say what they belonged to though. Was it prey or predator? Well, it didn’t really matter. With the kind of strong magic woven directly from the Dreamscape Morpheus was able to wield there was hardly any kind of creature here that could seriously endanger him anyway. Time to find out who - or what - left these prints.
