Day 3 Fall Carnival - Marisol

The leaves fluttered as a gentle breeze fell through the place Marisol was standing in. Risi was not the one to dawdle and go on frivolous outings, with all the work she had currently, but the Fall Carnival had rolled into town a few days ago and she was NOT missing out on that. Risi wrapped her scarf around her neck a little more snuggly, to combat the breeze and looked at the rides and stands, all available for Risi to enjoy.

There were a variety of stands, with carnies running their money stealing games and vendors stocked full of warm food to combat the nippy air. There were some stereotypical rides you would see at any carnival, such as a ferris wheel and bumper cars, but they did not interest the brightly coloured Browbird. Risi was interested in the cute animals that get to show off in some competitions.

Working in the fashion industry can limit Risi, and one way she is limited is animals. As a rule, Risi does not allow pets in her own home out of fear they can accidentally destroy a project she is working on. But with every fiber of her being, Risi wants to see the goats and sheep that visitors to the fair are able to pet. Risi craves the feeling of petting the cute goats and sheep. The Browbird made her way carefully through the crowd, picking out a couple places along the way to stop at as well (such as the candy apple stall).

Pushing her way through, Risi soon came across a decently sized fenced in area, with a few workers watching over the patrons and animals in the petting zoo area. She squealed to herself as Marisol joined the throngs of other individuals, and soon, a Painted Satyr was introducing a rabbit to Risi, named Pickles. Gently, they placed the rabbit into Risi’s awaiting hands. Pickles was a lovely mottled colouring, various browns smattered over the fur. The rabbit wriggled in Risi’s hands, but settled as she started to run her hands softly through its fur. Pickles snuggled in as Risi pet the cute little thing, its ears in a relaxed position.

This fall fair will definitely be a great one for Risi.

Day 4 - Warmth - Marisol

Marisol sighed as she stretched, her back aching from being arched over her latest designs she had created. She was currently in the midst of designing a cute umbrella that in a pinch can turn into a shield, but the logistics have left her a bit stumped at the moment. Every solution she comes up with for a problem results in a new problem cropping up. Frankly, Risi was becoming frustrated, the corners of her notes starting to wrinkle in her hands.

Risi was startled from her thoughts when a sudden cold chill went right through her. The Browbird didn’t even notice until now how cold it was. Determination can be a heck of a thing. The window to the right of Risi was frosted over on the outside, what’s left of the leaves swaying in the wind that rattles the window every so often. It was currently dusk, creating a pretty icy picture outside for Marisol. Biting her lip, Risi shivered again as she pushed herself out of her chair. Clearly, it was just a bit too chilly at the moment to continue working, and she needed the break or else Risi would explode into a thousand pieces.

The stairs creaked as Risi meandered down, going towards the living room. Risi knelt down at the fireplace as they grabbed some wood placed nearby, and piled it in to be lit. In a few minutes, Risi had a decent fire going, but it would take a little bit of time for the room to warm up. In the meantime, a hot drink would work to warm Marisol up quicker.

20 minutes later, Risi sat in the living room, the fireplace roaring with heat, and a cup of peppermint tea steeping in hot water, within their mug. The warmth drifted throughout the living room, and hopefully upstairs, as Risi brought the tea to their lips for a sip. She sighed as the warm tea soothed her cold soul even more. Marisol made the right call to take a break and get warmed up. For now, her work can wait for tomorrow at the very least.
