Traits

🌈 Can be applied to an Astrean browbird using a Chromatic Conch.

Trait: Allows the tail to be shark-shaped, have fins, be 1 large betta fish tail, or be a tentacle
Size: 1.5x body length from top of head to the ground, this includes tufted tail tips. Long fur attached to the length of the tail can also be up to 1.5x body length. Any fins attached to the tail can individually be up to 50% body length.

✅ Can be a fish or sea creature themed tail or a mix of different tail styles as long as it has at least 1 astrean-exclusive tail feature. (See examples below)
✅ Can have short or long fur, be smooth furless, slightly glossy, and have scales if the character also has scales.
✅ Tail can have scars, nicks, small piercings, and tattering but cannot have large holes.
✅ Tail can be damaged or cropped but cannot be leaking or show any bone
✅ Tail can be prehensile
✅ FISH FINS ONLY can be slightly translucent
✅ Can be stacked with these traits if the design also has them:

• MYTHIC: tail length, branching tail, x3+ tails, thorned tail
• RARE: x2 tails, razor tail tip
• UNCOMMON : split tail, shaped tail tip
• COMMON: spade tail tip

❌ REPLACES the base tail.
❌ Fins should not resemble spikes, blades, wings, feathers, or plants
❌ Fins themselves can't have fur, only the base tail
❌ Fins can't be fully transparent, they should still have some color and opacity to them
❌ Fins cannot fully wrap around the tail to create a 'cone' shape

Trait: Adds webbing between the fingers
Size: Only affects the hands

✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Webbing can be slightly translucent

❌ Does not change the base hand shape, fingers/claws will still retain the default look.

Trait: Adds gills to the neck, sides of body, or both
Size: Only affects areas shown, sizing should be close to examples

✅ Can be asymmetrical and you can mix styles
✅ Can be in pairs of 2,4,6 OR up to 1-3 gills per location on one side.
✅ Gills can be thin slits or frilly
✅ Frilly gills can have up to 2 layers per gill
✅ Gills can close and do not always need to be visible in prompts

❌ Only gills! Not holes that let you see into the body. 
❌ Cannot be much larger or longer than examples

Trait: Replaces the ears with fin-like ears. Can stick up and down, twitch, and emote!
Size: Only affects ears, can be up to 1.5x head height

✅ Can be droopy and lop ears
✅ Can only be placed on the side of the head
✅ Can have long or short fur, or no fur.
✅ Can have piercings
✅ Can be lightly tattered
✅ Fin area can be lightly translucent
✅ Can mix with default ear styles to create partial fin ears
✅ You aren't limited to the examples!

❌ Cannot have multiple ears, must be a single ear with all parts connecting to one base like the examples
❌ Cannot resemble rounded human, elephant, or mouse ears
❌ Should look like ears NOT wings! They do not have joints like wings/cannot flap like wings and are not dragon or bug wings.

Trait: Grants a single pair of dragon, bat, or fin-like wings. See examples!
Size: Legenth of a single wing can be up to 2x body height when fully extended. Folded wing height can extend slightly higher than the head and brush the ground slightly.

✅ ONE pair of wings placed on the back
✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Can be lightly tattered and have simple patterned edges
✅ Wing membrane can be lightly translucent
✅ Wings can be partially furred
✅ Wings can have scales and plate scales
✅ Can have up to 6 "fingers" per wing, this includes a "thumb" or spike sets
✅ Each wing can optionally have up to 3 spikes in place of the thumb, spikes can be up to x1 head height, they can't be branched but can be affected by other horn traits. Ie: engravings, rosethorn, etc!

❌ By default cannot be placed anywhere other than the back and cannot be applied multiple times for multiple wings
❌ The shape cannot resemble plants/leaves, feathered wings, or insect wings
❌ Wings cannot have hands on them or resemble hands
❌ MUST have membrane and resemble fins or dragon wings, cannot look like JUST fingers or hands
❌ Cannot replace arms to make arm wings

Trait: Adds fins to the body, sides of head head, limbs, or wings
Size: Individually a fin can be up to 50% body length long. Fins can cover up to 50% of the design.

✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Can be any type of fish-like fin
✅ Can be lightly tattered
✅ Fin area can be very lightly translucent. This only applies to fish fins, not thicker shark-like fins
✅ Can be placed in any location show on the examples
✅ Fins can be placed close together, for closely placed layered fins they can have up to 3 layers
✅ Can be placed on Sparklure Antennae and Dragon Whiskers if the design also has those traits. These fins should be smaller. Check examples for max size!

❌ Cannot be placed on the tail, horns, top of head between the horns, front of face, under the arms to look like body webbing, or other traits. Check examples for placement areas!
❌ Cannot have long trailing parts that go over the size limit
❌ Cannot resemble wings, plants, leaves, or feathers
❌ Should not look like spines, spikes, or blades
❌ Cannot have fur
❌ Cannot fully wrap around any features to create complete collars or cones all stemming from 1 base
❌ Cannot replace any traits or features. Can't be used in place of hair or fur, does not replace ears, and cannot be placed to mimic a tail, but can be placed near the base of a tail as long as they are attached to the body.

Trait: Adds ornate carved scales over the body of an Astrean Browbird
Size: Can cover up to 50% of the design. Tail and wings are included in total coverage.

✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Can be placed anywhere on the main body, tail, wing "arm" and edges
✅ Can be merged/accent regular scales or plates scales to give them ornate edges
✅ Can be patchy, have ridges, slight raised areas, chips, small breaks, and carvings
✅ Can be stacked with thorned tail or body thorns to give the scales thorns.
✅ Can be stacked with reflective accents to give the scales metallic edges or inlays

❌ Ornate scales don't replace any traits. They are scale plates layered over the outside of the character. While they can have carvings they can't appear as deep carvings that appear to go into the skin.
❌ Can't be placed on the horns and can only accent the face around the edges/on the nose like the examples, but can't entirely cover it or go over the mouth/eyes.
❌ All parts they cover should still be clearly discernible. Ie: Can't merge claws into the scales or completely obscure nose stripe.
❌ Can't have large cracks/missing chunks that look like large breaks

🌈 Can be applied to an Astrean browbird using a Chromatic Conch.

Trait: Replaces some or all of the hair with tentacles and/or fins. You can use both or just one.
Size: Only affects hair. Fin hair can be up to 50% body length, and tentacle hair can be up to 100% body length.

TENTACLES:
✅ Can be any type of fin style, and/or octopus or squid style tentacle
✅ Can be styled in different ways/have accessories
✅ Can be a tentacle beard, it should be clearly distinct and not entirely meld with the face
✅ Tentacle suckers are optional
✅ Tentacles can be cleanly chopped and have scars to create different styles
✅ Can be shiny but should not appear metallic/reflective (see examples)
✅ Tentacles can move on their own

FINS:
✅ Can be styled in different ways (IE: Fin mohawk is possible!)
✅ Can be lightly tattered
✅ Fins can be any type of fish fin, and can be lightly translucent. This only applies to fish fins, not thicker shark-like fins
✅ Fins can be placed in single, separate rows along hair tentacles if using both but cannot entirely cover or obstruct them.
✅ Can be fin beard, it should be clearly distinct and not entirely meld with the face and shouldn't look like whiskers.

❌ REPLACES some or all of the normal hair on the head. Only comes from the top of the head/where hair would naturally grow on the head, does not grow from anywhere else.
❌ Should look like hair on the head, does not modify the head shape.
❌ Does not stack with other hair modification traits. Tentacles and fins cannot have feathers, fur, wings, scales, plates, or other traits grow from them. Fins should not look like spikes or blades.
❌ The trait overall cannot go past 100% body length even if applying fins to the tips of max sized tentacles.
❌ For masterlist art, tentacles wrapping around the body or other traits should be kept to a minimum to not obstruct the design or appear as body tentacles.
❌ While sea hair can have tattering/damage/scars there cannot be holes, leaking portions, or carved out missing chunks.

Trait: Adds tentacles that grow from the body.
Size: ONLY UP TO 8 CAN BE PLACED TOTAL. Individually tentacles can be up to 1x body length from top of head to the ground. Can be as thick as the examples shown.

✅ CAN GROW FROM

• Sides of arms
• Upper back
• Sides of face above or below the ears
• Sides of body
• Sides of lower Legs (below the thigh)

✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Can be any type of octopus or squid style tentacle
✅ Can be styled in different ways/have accessories
✅ Tentacle suckers are optional
✅ Tentacles can be cleanly chopped and have scars
✅ Can be shiny but should not appear metallic/reflective (see examples)
✅ Tentacles can move on their own
✅ Can be stacked with the fins trait. Fins can be placed in single, separate rows along the tentacles. Fin sizing and total coverage still applies.
✅ Can wrap around the body as long as they are not heavily obstructing the character or mimicing other traits. (ie: you can have a tentacle wrap around the arm, but having multiple wrapping around an arm to make it appear made of tentacles will not pass!)

❌ Cannot be stacked with itself to add more tentacles
❌ Tentacles cannot have fur, feathers, wings, scales, plates, or other traits growing from them (with the exception of fins if you have the fin trait).
❌ While tentacles can have damage/scars there cannot be holes, leaking portions, or carved out missing chunks.
❌ Cannot be placed in any spot other than what is listed. Cannot come from wounds, cannot grow from wings, chest, front of body, front of face, hips, upper leg area, or near where the tail would be to mimic a tentacle tail.

🌈 Can be applied to an Astrean browbird using a Chromatic Conch.

Trait: Adds translucent, flowing fin veils and/or jellyfish tentacles to an astrean browbird
Size: ONLY UP TO 8 CAN BE PLACED TOTAL across the entire design. Individually sea veils can be up to 1x body length regardless of where they're placed. This includes all trailing sections and extra tendrils.

✅ CAN BE PLACED ON:

• Top of head
• Sides of head/edge of face
• Anywhere on the main body
• Arms and legs

✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Can be a large veil that fully or partially wraps around part of the body and/or thin veils
✅ Large veils can fully wrap around the body (see examples). As long as it's all connected it counts as 1 placement
✅ Can be lightly tattered
✅ Edges can be any simple shape like wavy, zigzag, etc.
✅ Can optionally have extra thin tendrils that grow from the main veil
✅ Veils can be layered over other veils. Each veil counts as x1 placement. Layers can be up to 3 deep. Ie: max 3 veils layered over each other.

❌ Does not replace any traits
❌ Cannot be stacked with itself to add more veils
❌ Veils cannot be any texture other than translucent fins/jellyfish-like tendrils
❌ Cannot be entirely transparent, and cannot be so opaque it obscures the character if it is layered over their body. (Between 10%-30% opacity is the safe zone)
❌ Cannot have large holes, but horns can poke through.
❌ Edges should be simple shapes only. Ie: tendrils can't be cut into shapes that resemble stars
❌ The thin extra "whisker-like" tendrils can only come from the veil portions and cannot be on their own
❌ Cannot be placed in any spot other than what is listed above. Cannot be placed on the tail, wings, front of face, other traits, or itself.

🌈 Can be applied to an Astrean browbird using a Chromatic Conch.

Trait: Adds connected web fin that trails along the sides of the boddy and arm
Size: At minimum must run from the ELBOW to MID BODY. At max it can run from the fingers to the knees. The webbing can extend from the body up to 75% bodty length at the longest portions - long enough to brush the ground when arms are at their sides. (see examples)

✅ Can be asymmetrical
✅ Can be lightly translucent
✅ Can be lightly tattered
✅ Edges can be any simple shape like wavy, zigzag, etc.
✅ Can be stacked with SEA TAIL to allow the body webbing to connect to tail fins (see examples) otherwise webbing can only be on the main body.

❌ Does not replace any traits
❌ Cannot be stacked with itself to add additional webbing
❌ Cannot be bisected by other traits
❌ Cannot have large holes
❌ Other traits cannot be applied to it (EX: feathers, scales)
❌ Is not "wyvern" styled wings, does not turn arms into wings, and should not resemble wings!
