When a rock sits in one place for a very long time, moss and flora begin to overtake its form. This is a normal and very uninteresting procedure, though you could sit and watch it if you'd like. This rock is slightly different, however, because it has the possibility to turn into a grumb. Sometimes, particularly old or important objects have a chance to gain sentience and a soul of their own. Other times, a magical construct can become alive — or close to it — with the aid of a skilled mage. A grumb is neither of those things, and yet it persists.
