In the wake of an especially magical Frostfall, one lucky astronomer noticed something incredible — a dragon will be passing by New Centuary and numerous other worlds during the turn of the year! These enormous beings swim like comets in the night sky, only appearing in rare cosmic events such as this and shedding thousands of prismatic scales that fall to worlds below. Now is a perfect time of year to gather friends or ask a special someone to watch the meteor shower. In true celestial seas fashion, vibrant festival grounds and makeshift shops have popped up in any town under the dragon's path. The phenomenon is visible during the day, but the colors are breathtaking on a clear night. It’s smart to get your shopping done early and find a place to watch from before all the best spots are gone! Afterward, people will take to the streets, beaches, and fields of New Centuary to hunt for fallen scale fragments. They’re quite magical, and it’s considered good luck to find one! For a while after falling, they glow brightly, in many colors and patterns. Finding one that speaks to you and inscribing it with a new year’s resolution or wish is an old tradition. As the magic held within the scale fades, the hopes of the person that wrote it are carried with it back to the stars.

ALSO NOTE: Some subtype and older legendary traits are temporarily hidden from the trait guides while being worked on, this is intentional to help avoid confusion! It doesn't affect existing characters and you can still apply that trait when updating traits.

If there is a trait/subtype update and that trait or subtype is present on your character...

• You don't automatically lose anything and aren't forced to update the design. You only have to use the updated guidelines if you submit a trait update.
• You keep whatever trait/rarity is listed, and if it's been moved to a free trait you can swap it off for a non free trait of the same or lower rarity when updating. If you leave it as-is when updating its converted to a free trait.
• If an exclusive trait was made free, you can swap it for another exclusive.
• REMINDER: The ARPG is still a work in progress! Always keep in mind that traits, rarities, and subtypes can change.

This is the first year that we've gotten the ARPG moving again after a 2 year slow period due to my health and other real life happenings. It's been difficult getting back into it, but I'm really proud of how far everything has come in the span of a single year and I have high hopes for what's to come in 2024!

For the time being, progress and new additions will still be slow and there may be delays and other bumps in the road from time to time. I really appreciate all the patience, support, and everyone who's been positive through this time despite these hiccups! The rising sun burns the void from your flesh. You watch ink bubble up into smoke as your bodies contort back into their original shapes, the spikes melting from your back and pooling on the ground. An eye blinks up at you for a moment in the puddle of your shed skin — if you didn’t know any better, you might think it was smiling. It’s only a moment, though, and the sun soon burns that away, too.

Apart from a deep, yawning hunger and an ache in your muscles, there’s no evidence that anything happened the night prior. Some people awaken in their bedrooms, swearing up and down that they experienced a wild nightmare. Others are convinced it was absolutely real. You’re not sure what to believe, but the news is reporting on it as a widespread delusion. Mass hysteria.

You don’t feel hysterical, but maybe that’s a sign that you are. It’s hard to say what’s real or not. What you do know is that your skin doesn’t quite feel the same, like there’s an itch underneath bursting at the seams, or an air bubble trapped in the slime of your flesh. When you look into a mirror, your face doesn’t feel like it’s yours anymore. And the Inkwell? You feel a sense of trepidation at the idea of going back there, but there’s also something within you that tugs sharply whenever you think about it.

There’s no use spending too much time mulling it over. It’s a strange happening — one of many — that will soon be forgotten.

🎃THE INKWELL

An odd little shop stands at the edge of town. Was it always there?
It peddles a variety of wares, both strange and familiar.

You can gain inkdrops to spend by completing browtober prompts. The to-be-revealed day 31 prompt will grant bonus event currency. There will also be other oppourtunities to get some in November!

The BADGE will be leaving the shop at the end of Browtober so be sure to get it while you have the chance! Everything else will remain until the shop's closing date.

The inkwell and inkdrops will be leaving at the end of December 2nd!

Gacha is going up on OCTOBER 2nd!

• Each roll is $150 through paypal - payment is taken before design is revealed!
• You will get 1 random design from the available designs
• 26 designs (9 browbirds, 11 painted satyr, 6 kitbulls) with contributions from Corrin, Sleepy, Lune, Cypherlife, Dracula, limesparrow, sphinx, sol, Vaitael, and Nitebight!
• 1 Roll per person for the first 24 hours, if any spots are still available after then you can claim as many of the remaining rolls as you want!
• Gacha is rolled when all slots are taken
• Site raffle system will be used!
• We'll have a GACHA SWAP channel in the discord if you'd like to swap your design after it's revealed!

★ CRAFTING UPDATES

• The CRAFTING PAGE and available recipes can now be viewed even if you have not completed the crafting quest
• Some SEASONAL and EVENT recipes common to rare can now be crafting by everyone, you don't need to do the quest to craft them!
• The RANDOM MATERIAL and 50% OFF COUPON are permanent recipes available to everyone
• All other permanent recipes, and any special and mythic seasonal/event recipes still require you to complete the crafting quest 1 time to unlock all of them.

★ COMPANION UPDATES

• The COMPANION GUIDE is now available, general companion info will be there!
• NEW halloween alt uncommon pet bases for 4 species! Only Available through the new Magic Candy! Existing pets of the same species or newly hatched eggs can be changed into these uncommon forms when paired with the item!

★ REPORTS SYSTEM

• Reports have been adjusted! You can now submit a private report, question, or otherwise get in contact with staff this way through the site without needing discord! If you need anything, please send a private report

★ SITE ISSUE FIXES

• Several images are not displaying properly and various pages are broken, we're aware and are working on fixing it!
• The Birthday gift should no longer be incorrectly granted to newly signed up players! If you recieved a gift and it was NOT the week of your birthday, please send in a report! Gifts will remain unable to be opened until more of the bug claims have been cleaned up - so please submit a CLAIM if you would like to open your gift!

★ PROMPT CORRECTION

• Some prompts such as fit check were incorrectly set at "once a month per character", this has been corrected to "once a month"! Celestial Scrapbook is still once a month per character as intended.
• Issues with submitting to these prompts giving an error should be fixed

🎃 BROWTOBER CHALLENGE REMINDER:

• There is no special extra prize for completing every prompt, other than your own personal accomplishment!
• You do not have to participate if you aren't able to, NO items are retiring permanently and will return in future events or seasonally
• If you plan to do the challenge: pace yourself, take breaks, and remember it's meant to be fun!
• Along with day 31 granting bonus inkdrops, there will also be another way to get inkdrops after browtober concludes during our novemeber mini event so these prompts are not the ONLY source!
